Sharm El Sheikh stands out for its year-round sunshine, crystal-clear waters, and relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere. It’s known for its stunning beaches along the Red Sea, where you’ll find some of the clearest water and most colourful marine life in the world. Whether you’re spending your days relaxing by the beach or heading out on a boat trip, the scenery and conditions are hard to beat.

One of the biggest highlights—and something I specialise in—is scuba diving and snorkelling. The Red Sea is one of the top diving destinations globally, known for its visibility, coral reefs, and diverse marine life. Whether you’re a beginner trying it for the first time or an experienced diver, there are endless sites to explore. Snorkelling is just as rewarding, with vibrant reefs accessible straight from the shore or on guided boat trips.

Food is another highlight of Sharm el-Sheikh. The city is especially known for its fresh seafood, alongside a wide range of international and local cuisine. Whether you’re dining at a beachfront restaurant or enjoying something more casual, there’s no shortage of great food options.

One thing worth addressing is that Egypt can sometimes be misunderstood. Like any destination, it’s important to be aware of the culture and approach your visit with respect and understanding. Those who go often find Egypt to be incredibly welcoming, with friendly people and a strong sense of hospitality.

It’s also important to note that you will need a visa when travelling to Egypt. For most travellers, this can be easily purchased on arrival at the airport and is a straightforward process, unless you hold Egyptian nationality.

You’ll find a wide range of accommodation options, from budget-friendly stays to high-end luxury resorts, along with affordable food, activities, and experiences—all while enjoying consistent sunshine and warm weather throughout the year.

Desert quad biking is a must if you want something different—riding through the open desert landscapes is a completely different side of Sharm. You can also take boat trips, visit nearby islands, or explore surrounding areas like Dahab, which is well worth the trip for a more laid-back, bohemian vibe.

Sharm also offers a variety of areas, each with its own atmosphere. Naama Bay is one of the main hubs, known for its lively nightlife, bars, and resort-style energy. Soho Square brings a more upscale, luxury feel, with stylish restaurants, shops, and entertainment. Hadaba is home to beautiful landmarks like the Al Sahaba Mosque and offers a slightly more local and cultural feel.

A standout spot is Farsha Café and Beach. This place is known for its incredible setting and atmosphere—especially at night, when it transforms into a warm, red-lit space overlooking the sea. It’s become very popular in recent years, and while it can get busy, it’s absolutely worth visiting for the experience alone.
